Solfeggio Frequencies: How to Activate Your Self-Healing Powers by Celyn Welsh
Dying to Be Me by Anita Moorjani
Let’s begin with a book that has profoundly impacted my understanding of life and health: Anita Moorjani’s "Dying to Be Me." In this remarkable memoir, Moorjani shares her extraordinary near-death experience and the transformative insights she gained during that pivotal moment. Her story is not just about survival; it’s about embracing authenticity and the power of love and self-acceptance.
As I turned each page, I felt as though I was walking alongside Moorjani on her journey of discovery. Her candid reflections on the importance of living fully and unapologetically struck a chord deep within me. She emphasizes that we often hold ourselves back from true happiness, fearing judgment and failure. This book serves as a gentle reminder that the key to healing lies in embracing our true selves, nurturing our passions, and letting go of the fear that keeps us from living our best lives.
Reading "Dying to Be Me" is like receiving a warm hug; it encourages us to shed the layers of doubt and embrace our unique paths. As I closed the book, I felt invigorated and hopeful, a perfect start to my reading for August.

Understanding Terrain Theory: Rethinking Disease by Olivia Winston
Next on my list is Olivia Winston’s enlightening work, "Understanding Terrain Theory: Rethinking Disease, Uncovering Its True Causes and Reclaiming Health Naturally." This book delves into the fascinating world of holistic health, challenging conventional beliefs about disease and wellness.
Winston presents a compelling argument for viewing health through the lens of our environment, lifestyle, and emotional well-being rather than simply focusing on pathogens as the sole culprits of illness. Her approach is both refreshing and empowering, encouraging readers to take control of their health by understanding the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit.
As I absorbed her insights, I was captivated by the idea that we have the power to positively influence our health, and we owe ourselves that, don’t we? This book is a treasure trove of practical tips and natural remedies, making it an essential read for anyone seeking to reclaim their health and well-being. By the end, I felt equipped with a new perspective and a deeper appreciation for the complex tapestry of our bodies and the world around us. It is a book I will definitely read again.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Ah, what would an August Reads list be without a classic? This month, I revisited one of my all-time favourite novels, "Pride and Prejudice" by the incomparable Jane Austen.
My granddaughter, Havanna, will be reading this beautiful book in her year 10 English classes, so it was a perfect indulgence to me to watch the movie with the stunning Kiera Knightley (for about the eighth time!) so that Havanna had a soft introduction to all of the wonder of Jane Austen’s masterpiece. But for me, nothing beats reading the book itself. I have a lovingly treasured copy that accompanied me into my garden for quiet moments of indulgent reading once the movie ended.
There’s something utterly enchanting about stepping back into the world of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, where wit, romance, and societal expectations intertwine beautifully, don’t you think?
Austen’s sharp observations on love, class, and human behaviours are timeless, resonating with readers across generations. Each character feels like an old friend, and with every reread, I discover new layers and nuances in their interactions. Elizabeth’s fierce independence and cleverness continue to inspire me, reminding me that true love is built on mutual respect and understanding.
Reading "Pride and Prejudice" is like sinking into a cozy armchair with a cup of tea. It’s both comforting and thought-provoking, a delightful escape that reminds us of the complexities of human relationships. I find total joy in revisiting this masterpiece, and I am excited to do a weekly book club session with Havanna so that one day she might just feel the same.

The Modern Man's Guide to Emotional Strength by David Keith
A new author on our site, David Keith, has graced us with a preview of his upcoming book, "The Modern Man's Guide to Emotional Strength: A Practical Path to Healing, Personal Growth, and Self-Care." This insightful guide is timely and essential, especially in today’s fast-paced world where male emotional vulnerability is often overlooked.
Keith’s writing resonates with a raw honesty that makes it feel like a conversation with a trusted friend. He provides practical tools for men seeking to cultivate emotional resilience and self-awareness. I particularly appreciated his emphasis on the importance of self-care and the courage it takes to recognise and embrace one’s emotions fully.
The book is filled with relatable anecdotes and exercises that empower readers to embark on their personal growth journeys. As I read through Keith’s guidance, I felt inspired to reflect on my own emotional landscape and the ways I can foster strength in vulnerability. This book is a must-read for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of emotional health and wellbeing.

Solfeggio Frequencies: How to Activate Your Self-Healing Powers by Celyn Welsh
To round off this month’s selections, I delved into Celyn Welsh’s intriguing exploration of sound healing with "Solfeggio Frequencies: How to Activate Your Self-Healing Powers with Healing Tones, Sounds, and Vibrations." This book opened my eyes to the profound impact that sound can have on our physical, mental, and emotional health.
Welsh beautifully explains the ancient principles behind Solfeggio frequencies and how they can be harnessed to reduce stress, promote healing, and restore balance. I found myself captivated by the idea of using sound as a healing modality, and the practical exercises included in the book motivated me to experiment with sound therapy in my daily routine. And as a result of my newfound knowledge, a frequency tuning fork has now been ordered as a little gift to myself! Well, why not?
Reading about the healing power of vibrations felt like a gentle nudge toward self-care and mindfulness. It’s a reminder that our bodies are not just vessels but intricate systems that respond to the energies around us. If you’re curious about sound healing practices, this book is a fantastic starting point.
